Jess provides person-centered therapy with the following modalities:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy & Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
CBT is a structured therapy that identifies unhelpful thinking patterns and behaviors that cause emotional distress. CBT focuses on the present and equips individuals with practical skills to address unhelpful patterns.
TF-CBT is an evidenced-based treatment model for adolescents and caregivers to overcome post-traumatic stress, depression, anxiety, grief, and/or behavioral challenges resulting from traumatic events.
Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a structured psychotherapy that helps individuals heal from emotional distress and symptoms caused by traumatic events. EMDR activates the brain’s natural healing mechanisms to help reprocess “stuck” or fragmented traumatic memories and link them to positive beliefs, resulting in alleviation of trauma symptoms.
Play Therapy
Play therapy utilizes carefully selected toys and play as a child’s natural medium for expression to help them express emotions and resolve challenges related to trauma, anxiety, behavioral problems, grief and loss, parent divorce, depression, intensive medical treatment, and more. Play therapy is appropriate for ages 3-12.
Jessica incorporates child-centered play therapy in treatment with children and is working towards full Play Therapy certification.
